SelectROW

From one data problem in April 2025 to the platform the business runs on.

SelectROW has provided land and right-of-way acquisition and consulting for over 25 years, to government bodies and to gas, electric and telecommunications utilities. They secure licence agreements and fibre access agreements for fibre installations across the US.

What was in the way

Their project, invoicing and purchasing data was spread across several platforms. Problems only showed up when someone compared them by hand.

A project running behind schedule, or an invoice that didn't add up, could go unnoticed until then.

How the work grew

  1. Apr 2025

A review of their infrastructure, and the plan that came from it.

We started by reviewing SelectROW's infrastructure, and the review produced a plan for bringing their project, invoicing and purchasing data into one place. Then we built it. Data from several platforms is combined and kept up to date on a schedule, so nobody has to put the numbers side by side by hand.

  2. 2025

The combined data used to flag project timeline issues and invoicing discrepancies.

With everything in one place, SelectROW sees a project slipping, or an invoice that doesn't add up, as it happens, instead of when someone next compares the numbers. From there, the work grew into the platform the business runs on.

  3. May 2026

Work began on SelectROW's platform, starting with lead management.

Screening and sales work from the same view of every lead, with permissions deciding who on the team can see and change what. It's one app for the whole business: Atlas, the mapping module, is part of the same platform.

  4. Aug 2026

Reporting moving from a licensed BI platform to BigQuery.

  5. Sep–Oct 2026

Per-client Google shared drives replacing about 20,000 individually permissioned folders.

Each of SelectROW's clients now has its own Google shared drive, so access is managed client by client instead of folder by folder. The team structure is synced from Google Workspace, there's a sync with Monday, and a client portal has been designed. Atlas, a mapping module, is in development.

Where it stands today

SelectROW's business now runs on one platform, on AWS in SelectROW's own infrastructure. It's in active development, with 650+ commits since May 2026, and we maintain it on a monthly support retainer. Next on the plan are customer and vendor portals, expense management and time tracking.
